Individual music lessons with the peripatetic music teachers are payable extras.  The charges for these will be itemised as an extra item on the school fees bill and are payable in advance with the fees.  A half-term's notice of intention to stop lessons is required.

From time to time, we ask for small sums to cover the costs of outings, theatre visits, special activities, eg skiing (seniors only) etc.

"After-school" clubs, which are voluntary, make a small charge to cover costs or materials.

As a special arrangement, fees for pupils entering Kindergarten in September can be paid monthly by standing order, at the rate of £450 per month for twelve months.  This arrangement is for Kindergarten year only.  The monthly bill will also have added a share of payment for lunches and any other fixed costs.

School fees are payable before the first day of each term, apart from the special arrangement for Kindergarten. We reserve the right to charge interest, at 2% per month, for late payment.

In the event of the withdrawal of a child, notice in writing of one full term, in the absence of which the full fees for the following term must be paid (payment in lieu of notice), is required. Notice can be given at any time prior to the start date of the term to which the notice relates. The School reserves the right at their absolute discretion to charge and recover the full fees payable. There is no reduction or remission of fees for absence through illness or any other cause, but an insurance fee remission scheme is obtainable from some specialist education brokers.

A Registration Fee of £50 per child is payable with the form and is refundable only if a place is not offered by the School. Once a place is offered, the acceptance form should be returned to the school as soon as possible together with a deposit of £150 per child. The deposit is refundable when the child(ren) leave the school, less any deductions for any payments outstanding. In the event that a child does not join the school after a place has been accepted, the deposit will be retained by the school.

PAYING FEES MONTHLY

The option to pay school fees by monthly direct debit is available through a scheme run by Holmwoods Term Time Collections, part of   HSBC Group in partnership with MBNA Group.  A leaflet about this scheme is available from the school office.

BURSARIES

There is a scheme of means-tested bursaries to assist with fees at Castle House School . Applicants will be asked to complete a confidential statement of their financial situation supported by detailed evidence.  An Awards Committee will assess each application on its merits and may offer a bursary.  Bursaries awarded will be on a sliding scale according to household income.  A parental contribution will be required from all recipients, together with payment of the normal cost of lunches, clubs, other extras etc.  The school retains full discretion over admissions.

DAYCARE 8.00 am to 6.00 pm  and Prep-and-Play from 3.50 pm to 6.00 pm

Children may arrive at school at 8.00 am.  They will be supervised by suitably qualified staff until they are allowed to go to their classroom when the teaching staff come on duty at 8.25 am. There is no charge for this service.

We also operate an after-school care scheme PreP-and-Play to which parents can
subscribe for a full term or use on an ad hoc basis. Charges vary according to
the session booked. We offer a variety of time slots to suit parental needs and
to dovetail with the varied finishing times of our extensive range of after-school
clubs.

Qualified staff supervise the children during this period.Younger children play,
participate in games and craft activities or watch TV and videos while older
children are supervised to do their homework.  Children are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack to eat at the beginning of the session.

The ad hoc sessions are ideal for those emergencies that can arise from time to
time when a parent or carer cannot be at school to collect a child at the usual
time. They can be sure that their child is being cared for in a safe environment.

CASTLE HOUSE HOLIDAY CARE runs during the school holidays.  Please request a copy of our separate brochure. For details click here.
