Special Needs
Unlike many independent schools, we
do not charge any extra for learning
support.
Children with learning difficulties may be referred to the school’s own learning support department, initially for assessment and then for one-to-one help.

The school’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is a qualified teacher, with special needs training.  She will devise an appropriate programme specifically for each child who needs learning support.

The children will attend Learning Support lessons, following their own personal programmes. Usually there are two or three children together at a time. Each child has a personal IEP (Individual Education Plan) and will be working with the teacher according to their own needs.

Parents are consulted at each step of the assessment and are asked

to help at home with the learning support programme.

Unlike many independent schools, we do not charge any extra for learning support. By admitting your child to the school, we have committed ourselves to do our best to meet their needs whatever those may be. Children often make rapid progress after receiving support from our Special Needs Department, which was praised by the inspectors.
